This exhibit includes 54 sculptures and 45 works on paper, with additional documentary source materials including notebooks from her student days at Black Mountain College and vintage photographs by her friend Imogen Cunningham. It constitutes the first complete retrospective of Ruth Asawa’s career. This exhibit has been designed over the course of three years, under the direction of Daniell Cornell, Curator of American Art for the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco.
