In the forward of an old printmaking book the author is described as having completed over 150 editions before the age of 45. I wondered how many editions I have completed so I started to try and count them. So far I have counted 73 editions, I know that there have been quite a few editions that have all been given away and I will not be able to document. The smallest edition in there is 3 and the largest is 175. I've assembled quite a few of them in this flickr set
Here is one of my first prints from 1992 of David Byrne.
While I was home for the holidays I burned a lot of old drawings and notebooks, it felt great. I've documented what I can of the past now so I can focus on the present and the future. I'm looking forward to 2007!
Happy New Year to you!
the last French Hip-hop I posted was well received so I thought I owuld share another. This is Oxmo Puccino and the Jazz Bastards. The album was released on Bluenote this year and tells a complete story from the first to last song. All the instrumentation is done by the Jazz Bastards. The website shows all the characters in the story. I read an interview with Oxmo in a French music mag where he talked about how excited and proud he was to have an album released on Bluenote and how much he learned from working the the jazz Bastards.

More art on sale at Anno Domini Good stuff. :)
I have my High School art Teacher Fran Nichols to thank for my printmaking addiction. She showed me how to do dry point etchings in thick sheets of acetate. You could get about 10 impressions off one of those. Using waterbased inks.
I was so happy to find this print. It's a very dear friend named Doron sitting in his bedroom. I think it is around 1991 or 1992. It really takes me back. 16 years later we are still friends. I feel so lucky.
